LEAD - Leadership module
Delegating, Empowering and Developing Others
|Target population:||Managers with a supervisory role|
|Traditional leadership development often focuses on helping leaders deal with performance problems, creating a workforce where employees meet their leader only when there is a problem. Leaders hire others for their talent, yet often spend their time managing weaknesses. While addressing substandard performance head on is still a critical leadership competency, extensive research (Gallup, over 2 million interviews, among others) indicates that leaders who focus on building people’s strengths and talents achieve greater results. Furthermore, generational analyses clearly indicate that the newer generation of workers expect to be developed.
In this workshop you will learn how to:
• Analyze others’ strengths, development areas and learning preferences
• Leverage delegation and empowerment to develop others in alignment with business goals
• Create clear development plans
• Increase others’ commitment to development
