Anne Fortier receives the A. and R. Pietrangeli Memorial Fund award:
Anne Fortier is a PhD student under Dr. Philippe Gros' supervision. She submitted the abstract "Functional Study of Birc1e/Naip5 as Host Susceptibility Gene to Legionella pneumophila" for the Society for Leukocyte Biology Meeting held in San Antonio, Texas, on November 9-11, 2006. Anne was chosen to give an oral presentation for the Presidential Award Competition.
Loic Guillot receives the ALFA Neurochem award:
Loic Guillot is a PDF under Dr. Salman Qureshi's supervision. He submitted two abstracts for presentation at the May 2007 International Conference of the American Thoracic Society to be held May 18-23, 2007, in San Francisco: "Acapsular Cryptococcus neoformans induces chemokine expression bybronchial epithelial cells" and "Resistance to experimental Cryptococcus neoformans infection in SJLmice is associated with an enhanced innate immune response."
