Interdisciplinary Options

MA History—Development Studies option, MA History—Gender and Women's Studies option and, for students interested in combining the approaches of history and political science, MA History—European Studies option (students interested in European history generally should apply to the regular MA program). Students admitted to these options participate in an interdisciplinary seminar in place of 3 history seminar credits (6 in the case of the Gender and Women's Studies option) and write their research paper or thesis on a topic approved by the specific option's coordinating committee.
