While studying at McGill, there are a variety of affordable and convenient housing options available to you. We offer limited on-campus housing and a housing service to help you find an apartment off-campus. Residence accommodation is also available on the Macdonald Campus.
If you’d like to live on the downtown campus, there are two main types of housing available. We offer single bedrooms in shared-facilities houses and single occupancy apartments. Each year, a limited number of graduate housing spaces become available. You must be an admitted student to be considered for graduate housing. To apply, simply check off the “housing requested” box on your McGill application.
Visit the Graduate Housing Office website for more information.
If you’re looking to find an apartment or room off-campus, the Off-Campus Housing Office is here to help! The service acts as your guide and provides friendly advice to help you in your search.
The Off-Campus Housing Service publishes lists of apartments for rent, apartments to share and rooms for rent in private homes. These lists are updated daily and are available online to all students who have a valid McGill ID number. The Off-Campus Housing Service website also contains information on renting in Montreal, on the lease laws for the Province of Quebec and includes links to other useful sites.
