International student funding
We have substantially increased resources to graduate students support, some of which is specifically dedicated to supporting international students.
Various forms of financial support are available to international students including McGill funding, external funding and student aid. We encourage you to contact your country's educational authorities to inquire about funding opportunities to study abroad. In addition, various external sources offer funding opportunities to study in Canada.
China Scholarship Council
In partnership with McGill University, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) offers scholarships to outstanding Chinese students who will pursue doctoral or postdoctoral studies at McGill. For doctoral students selected by the CSC, McGill undertakes to cover the cost of tuition while the CSC will provide the student with a stipend sufficient to cover living expenses, return airfare and visa application fees. For selected postdoctoral fellows, the CSC will provide a postdoctoral award and McGill supervisors will provide additional financial support. Read more about the CSC scholarships.
We encourage all international students to apply for external funding. External funding includes fellowships and awards that are administered by sources outside of McGill University. This includes fellowships and awards allocated by government departments and agencies, foundations and private companies.
