At McGill University, we are committed to helping you finance your education.
Our goal is to simplify the funding process and provide you with funding
opportunities for the duration of your graduate studies.
There are two main types of merit-based fellowships available to
you:
-
External Awards - These are awarded by federal and
provincial government agencies and some other private agencies who rely on
McGill to recommend candidates. The application process is usually held one
academic year in advance of receipt of the award.
-
McGill Fellowships - This is funding that is awarded by
GPS either through nomination by academic departments or sometimes by
student application directly to GPS. They are usually awarded the winter or
spring before the start of the award. These are listed in the Fellowships
Calendar, and you should consult your academic department for more
information.
Please consult
McGill Student
Aid if you are looking for scholarships based on financial need.
