Student Funding
McGill Global Health Programs offers a Student Initiatives Fund for global health-related student-run activities at McGill University through a competitive process. Activities organized by McGill student-run initiatives or individual students under the general funding areas listed below are eligible. Applications are biannual, due October 1st and April 1st of each academic year.
There is no limit to the number of student-run organizations or activities that can apply, however funds are limited. It is anticipated that on average between $2,000 and $6,000 per year will be awarded, though the actual amount will depend on available resources.
Funds are available for students groups to cover the following:
1) Overhead or activity costs: for student groups working to heighten student and community knowledge and practical experience on global health issues. Student groups administering scholarship funds for global health research or electives are also eligible to supplement funding for scholarship funds.
2) Educational Programs: Funds are available for educational programs such as courses, symposia, etc. with the objective of advancing student knowledge on global health issues.
3) Organizing Conferences and/or meetings: Funds may be awarded for speaker expenses, accommodations, travel, room rentals, refreshments, etc.
