Dr. Richard Deckelbaum, Professor at the Columbia University School of Public Health, Director of the Institute of Human Nutrition, and McGill alum, is presented with the GHEC Lifetime Achievement Award by Drs. Anvar Velji and Tim Brewer.

Dr. Julio Frenk, Dean of the Harvard School of Public Health, spoke in a plenary session on the Lancet Commission Report: Health Professionals for a New Century with fellow commission members Drs. David Serwadda and Zulfiqar Bhutta.

Dr. Jody Heymann, Founder and Director of the McGill Institute for Health and Social Policy, participated in a panel on Metrics and Global Health.

Dr. Felicia Knaul, Director of the Harvard Global Equity Initiative, provided a plenary lecture in the Cancer and Other Chronic Diseases plenary session, along with Sir George Alleyne.

Dr. Roger Glass, Director of the NIH Fogarty International Center, provided a lecture on the Role of Governments and Universities in Global Health.

The plenary session on "Partnerships that Benefit Institutions in Under-Resourced Settings: Perspectives from Sub-Saharan Africa" featured Prof. Nelson Sewankambo, Prof. Peter Donkor, and Prof. Marian Jacobs.
