Karine Hébert teaches history at the Université du Québec à Rimouski and is Director of the Masters programme in History. Her publications deal with the history of Quebec women and Montreal student youth during the twentieth century, and she is in the process of preparing a book on Montreal student identity (1895-1960), a study which will be based on a comparison of the student communities at McGill University and the Université de Montréal. Her current work is oriented around two axes: first, she is looking at how women’s groups intervened publicly at two key moments in the women’s movement (the Dorion Commission and the Bird Commission); and, second, she is exploring the history of Quebec heritage.
