Teaching activities

The Division of Gastroenterology teaches at all levels including students, internal medicine or surgical residents as well as GI Fellows. It offers, in addition, 3 standing yearly Clinical Fellowships for Advanced training in Digestive Endoscopy, IBD, and motility/esophageal diseases. In addition to organizing the clinical correlate sessions for Unit IV of the core Medical School curriculum, the division offers a course in critical appraisal of the literature, and its members either direct or participate in numbered University Courses in the Departments of Physiology, Epidemiology and Biostatistics.

Of note, the GI specialty training program was last year described as "the Flagship" for McGill University Medical Training Programs by the Royal College Accreditation visit.
