The First Peoples’ House also functions as a spacious and welcoming residence for both undergraduate and graduate students. Located in an attractive red stone building adjacent to McGill’s Downtown campus, the house provides 10 single-occupancy rooms, each with their own study desk, bookshelf, dresser, and nightstand. Our large communal kitchen and common room give residents a chance to gather and enjoy a meal, study, or watch TV. Card-operated laundry installations are also offered through Residences.
Occupancy begins on September 1st and ends on July 31st, with monthly rent ranging from $566 to $867 depending on the size of the room. This rate includes electricity, hot water, and heating.
Residences Admissions arranges priority for accommodation to Indigenous students, you can reach them before June 1st. The number of available rooms varies year after year, as students may choose to renew their lease for the duration of their time at McGill.
