First-Year Seminars
First-Year Seminars are for-credit courses offered through the Faculties of Arts and of Science that aim to help new students acclimatize to the university environment, with an emphasis on providing close interaction with professors and other students. Topics of study vary from year to year, and have previously included globalization, literature and democracy. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis through Minerva. Note that you may only take one First-Year Seminar during your course of study at McGill.
A full description of these seminars can be found on OASIS, the Arts Office of Advising and Student Information Services.
