Emerging Leaders Mini-Conference Workshop Descriptions

Below are short descriptions of the workshops offered at Emerging Leaders Mini_Conference to be held on Wednesday, January28, 2015.  These workshops will provide the opportunity to build and/or develop your leadership skills and competencies.

  • All in Good Time: Time & life management for engaged student leaders

This workshop will offer suggestions on how to better manage your time and schedule in order to minimize stress and maximize performance. Topics will include pri­oritizing; reducing procrastination; strategic scheduling; and overcoming the challenges of balancing academic, extracurricular, and personal responsibilities.

  • Hear from Peers: Student government and organizations panel

Meet and hear from some of the presidents of student governments and students who are active in organizations at McGill. These students will share first-hand experience and can provide ways and support in your goal to engage more in leadership at McGill. Each panelist comes with a wealth of experience and a unique perspective.

  • +MINDSET: Cultivating a positive mindset & discovering the science of happiness

    Do you want to learn ways to have a more positive mindset? Come learn about the science of happiness and discover how you can cultivate a positive mindset    by taking in the good.

 

  • Next Steps: Action planning and networking

Engage in facilitated discussions and activities to integrate all the ideas and inspiration from the day into your own action plan and build a network of peer to work with and keep inspired during the final workshop of the day.
