New Graduate Science Students
Are you worried that your teaching skills are lacking? Would you like to use your time more efficiently and learn how to be more effective in front of a class? Do you want to learn teaching techniques geared specifically for science graduate students? If so, then you might be interested in the TPULSE workshops which are facilitated by Tomlinson Graduate Teaching Fellows, who are graduate students in the Faculty of Science, committed to improving the quality of the teaching and learning of science at McGill. Registration for the August 2014 workshop will open in late summer.
This two-day workshop offers participants the opportunity to reflect upon their own approaches towards teaching, to develop skills for demonstrating in laboratories & discussion sections, and to provide a foundation for future academic positions.
You will learn strategies for ensuring that there is a close relationship between teaching & learning and explore learner-centrered approaches to teaching that can be easily used in the lab or classroom.
This workshop is designed for Faculty of Science graduate students, especially those who are TA-ing or considering careers in academia.
Dates will be announced later.
