Calculating your tuition and fees

Tuition rates can range anywhere from $2,068 to $24,840 annually, depending on your faculty, the degree you're pursuing, the number of course credits that you are registered for and your residency status (Quebec, Out-of-Province Canadian, or International student). Visit the Student Accounts Office for detailed information.

As well, compulsory fees will be added to your tuition, for things like student services and student societies.

IT services

McGill offers a wide array of services to make you technologically savvy. The following bullets list some of the IT services available to you, complete with links to further information on McGill's IT websites.

The Athletics department offers a wide range of sport and recreational activities to meet the needs and interests of the entire McGill community. Facilities include a swimming pool, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, squash courts, weight rooms, indoor and outdoor running tracks, an arena and a new state-of-the-art fitness centre, as well as the football stadium.

Your McGill Identification Card is an absolute necessity. You will need it to write exams, take out library books, use student services on campus, and even get student discounts at local retailers. You can get an ID on both the Downtown and Macdonald campuses, and must wait 24 hours after registering for at least one course to be eligible. Replacements for lost or stolen ID cards are available as well.

Estimated Annual Cost of Living

Montreal's cost of living, while lower than in many North American cities, is nonetheless a concern to many students. Budgets can vary, but below are some general estimates of living expenses that a single full-time student can expect to incur in a year, not including tuition and ancillary fees. If you are concerned about covering the cost of your studies, be sure to look into loan and bursary programs from McGill, your provincial government or your country of residence.
