McGill’s Facilities and Space Management System (FAMIS)

FAMIS is McGill’s facilities and space management system. It is integrated with McGill’s Banner system for both human resources and financials. It will be used primarily by Facilities, Campus Planning, and Financial Services to:

  • Create service requests with maintenance and operations and monitor progress
  • Track the planning, construction/renovation, and billing processes
  • Maintain a central repository of space data and current architectural plans
  • Provide public access to reports on the space and usage of space for all campuses
  • Enable visual reports via the Visual Map module, combining space and usage reports and architectural plans

FAMIS has replaced the following legacy systems:

  • Maximo (the previous service request system)
  • S.P.A.C.E. (the previous space database and drawing delivery system)
  • CARS (the previous construction project finance system)
  • PMD (the previous capital project management system)
