Val-d'Or Training


LOCATION

Located in the region of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Val-d'Or is a northern mining town about 550 km from Montreal.  the teaching site is part of the CSSS de la Vallée-de-l'Or.


CAPACITY

• 2 trainees per period


LENGTH OF ROTATION

• 1 or 2 months
• 6 month stream option is available (for residents)


LANGUAGE

• Spoken: French, English is useful
• Charting: French


CLINICAL EXPOSURE AND LEARNING EXPERIENCES

Rotation primarily done in Hospital & Family Medicine Unit

Trainees can be exposed to:
• ER
• Home care/visits
• Intensive Care Unit
• Minor Procedures
• Pre Natal and Post Natal Care
• Obstetrics
• On-Call
• Teaching Activities
• Walk-in Clinic
• Ward and Patient Services
• Visits to other velliages
• Other clinical exposures: Pediatrics
