McGill Students
If you are a third or fourth year medical student enrolled at McGill University and you wish to do a family medicine elective in another country, please visit http://www.mcgill.ca/familymed/undergrad/forms/. The area of student exchange remains very active, and we continue to receive numerous requests from both McGill and international students.
| 2008-2009 | A total of 32 students went to Tanzania, Cameroon, Zambia, Gambia, Guatemala,Lebanon, Morocco and Thailand for their family medicine special. |
| 2007-2008 | A total of 44 students completed their family medicine rotation in Africa, South East Asia, Central and South America. In addition, 19 students completed their family medicine special in Europe and the Middle East. |
| 2006-2007 | A total of 42 students travelled to low-resource settings for a family medicine special. 9 students went to Guatemala, 14 students went to Uganda, Rwanda or Kenya, 3 went to Chile and 4 went to India, Pakistan and Thailand. |

Young Professional Placement Program

The Young Professional Placement Program of the Canadian Society for International Health offers overseas volunteer work experience to young Canadian graduates interested in International Health initiatives. Duration of internships generally last for 6 months.
Interactive Voluntary Development Network

IVDN is a non-political, non–religious, non-governmental organization, volunteer organization. IVDN offers internships and elective opportunities to students interested in gaining experience in Kenya. Duration of participation varies from 2 weeks to 6 months.
