The University is one of Montreal's largest employers. Its cultural and
research activities contribute to the quality of life of the city. McGill
activities contribute about $500 million to the Quebec economy every year.

Dr. Tom Hudson is director of the McGill University and Génome Québec
Innovation Centre, housed in McGill's newest building at 740 Dr. Penfield
Avenue. The centre was built with funds from all levels of government as well
as private partners. It houses laboratories and space for start-up bio-tech
companies.
