Facilities Operations and Development

We ensure that all McGill facilities obtain the most efficient, cost effective and environmentally sensitive support services in the areas of Buildings, Grounds and Special Events, Utilities and Energy Management, Building Operations, Project Management, Design Services and Logistics – in support of the University's teaching, research and community service responsibilities.

FAMIS

McGill’s facilities and space management system. It enables McGill employees to log service requests and provides reports, and floor plans of the university’s space, for all campuses.

Campus Public Safety

Campus Public Safety works with the community to promote a safe and secure environment through education, prevention and response. The members of the Department: Security Services, Fire Prevention, Parking & Transportation Services and Emergency Management & Preparedness, are committed to respecting the needs and interests of the university community, and to being diligent in the protection of both persons and property.

Office of Sustainability

We encourage and unite the efforts of students, faculty, staff and administrators to incorporate principles of sustainability in university operations, campus living and learning and in its relations with the broader community. 

Environmental Health and Safety

Environmental Health & Safety supports the continuous improvement of a safety culture at the University by providing advice, guidance, training, and technical support to the McGill community. The safety culture encompasses a healthy and safe environment achieved through everyone’s understanding of their related responsibilities and compliance with all regulatory requirements and University safety policies.

Hazardous Waste Management

The Hazardous Waste Management has disposal guidelines, and handles various types of wastes for internal and external clients: radioactive waste, chemical waste, biomedical waste, bulk waste. We handle recyclable hazardous materials and other items that cannot be accepted via the university's recycling program, such as batteries, appliances, and various metals.

Ancillary Services

We provide Retail, Parking services, Printing and Mail services. Our mission is to work as a dedicated team in providing the highest quality, most efficient, and cost effective support to the McGill community in all our areas of involvement.
