Faculty Transfer & Readmission
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
- Inter-Faculty Transfer: For currently registered students wishing to change Faculties.
- Intra-Faculty Transfer: For currently registered students wishing to change program/degrees within the SAME Faculty.
- Readmission: For students not currently registered wishing to be readmitted back into their original Faculty OR to be readmitted and change Faculties.

Inter, Intra and Readmit/Returning students
The following procedures apply to all students who have received an official acceptance on MINERVA from McGill University, Faculty of Engineering, Engineering Student Centre, Student Affairs Office.
Please read the following procedures carefully to ensure that you are properly registered for the up-coming term. Any questions related to the following information should be directed to the Engineering Student Centre, Student Affairs Office, Frank Dawson Adams Building, Room 22.
INTER TRANSFER:
It is assumed that all Inter Transfer students have registered for courses for the upcoming term(s) and the courses currently reflecting on MINERVA are courses in the Faculty and Department in which you were previously registered.
- Once you have determined that your Faculty and Department have been changed on MINERVA, you may make the necessary changes to your course registration.
- Identification cards reflecting your new Faculty may be obtained at Service Point, 48 hours after the change has appeared on MINERVA.
INTRA TRANSFER:
It is assumed that all Intra Transfer students have registered for courses for the upcoming term(s) and the courses currently reflecting on MINERVA are courses in the Faculty and Department in which you were previously registered.
- Once you have determined that your Faculty and Department have been changed on MINERVA, you may make the necessary changes to your course registration.
READMIT/RETURNING:
Students returning to the Faculty of Engineering under this category are those who left the Faculty in satisfactory or unsatisfactory academic standing and are requesting readmission.
- If you have not already done so, please submit a letter outlining your activities during your absence from McGill and/or send us an official transcript of any courses completed during this time away. Please address these documents to the attention of: Readmit/Returning, Engineering Student Centre, Student Affairs Office, Frank Dawson Adams Building, Room 22.
- Once you have determined that your student account has been activated, you will be able to officially register for your courses on MINERVA.
- Identification cards may be obtained at Service Point, 48 hours after you have registered for courses.

ADVISING SESSIONS
Academic Advising is mandatory in the Faculty of Engineering. All students are expected to meet with a Departmental Advisor prior to the commencement of classes. Please refer to the following website on advising for your particular program.
