McGill University's reputation for excellence and the quality of its teaching and research in the Faculty of Engineering are recognized around the world and therefore the Faculty attracts the highest quality professors and students.

The five departments and two schools that form the Faculty of Engineering house research across a broad range of disciplines in Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning, where you will find cutting edge programs in Nanotechnology, Advanced Materials, Intelligent Systems, Robotics, Process Control, Aerospace, Sustainable Engineering, and the emerging field of Bioengineering just to name a few.

Research in the faculty is highly interdisciplinary and frequently involves collaborations with experts in science, health sciences, management and many other areas. Our professors have very strong international links and many of them have close partnerships with industry.

Montreal is one of the most vibrant cities in North America and McGill’s Faculty of Engineering lies in the heart of the downtown campus. Montreal is also very affordable and we are now offering additional funding for the most qualified applicants to our graduate programs.

Domestic refers to all students who hold one of the following Fee Residence Status:

1. Canadian
2. Permanent Resident
3. Quebec Resident
4. Government Exception (Quebec Fee)

International refers to all students who do not satisfy the criteria for domestic fee status above
