DISE Graduate Dr. Ghada Chehade Wins Best Dissertation Award

Congratulations to Faculty of Education PhD graduate Dr. Ghada Chehade on winning the award for Best Dissertation in the Field of Rhetoric, Writing Studies and Discourse Analysis from the Canadian Association for the Study of Discourse and Writing. Ghada is a graduate of the Department of Integrated Studies in Education and a supervisee of Dr. Anthony Paré and Dr. Steve Jordan.

Retirement Celebration for Dr. Lise Winer

In May, DISE held a remarkable retirement party for Dr. Lise Winer. Lise has been part of the McGill community for many years, recently taking on the role of Graduate Program Director. She also possesses an outstanding record of intellectual achievement on the topic of Caribbean Creole. The affection and respect with which Lise is viewed was reflected in the size and tone of her retirement party, which featured singing, dancing, and a decadent cake....

Tanya Chichekian, ECP Student, receives Recognition Award from the Canadian Association for Teacher Education

Tanya Chichekian, a Doctoral Candidate in the Leanring Sciences program, Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, was recently honored with a Recognition Award from the Canadian Asssociation for Teacher Education (CATE) for her Doctoral dissertation's contribution to research on teacher education in Canada, entitled "Self-Efficiancy for Inquiry-Based Instruction" Surviving the Leap from Student-Teacher to an Inquiry-Oriented Novice Teacher".

Faculty of Education Audiovisual Equipment Loan Service

The Faculty of Education will soon be re-establishing the audiovisual equipment loans service formerly managed by the Education Library & Curriculum Resources Centre. While we still have a lot to do in preparation we are optimistic that everything will be up and running by the beginning of the second week of classes. The new home for the Audiovisual Equipment Loan Service will be the Education Computer Lab in room 328 of the Education Building....
