Dr. Nathan Smith, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology and his colleagues at the Université de Montréal published a new study that shows health benefits of coming out of the closet for lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals.
Dr. Smith, co-author of Sexual Orientation and Disclosure in Relation to Psychiatric Symptoms, recently spoke about this in an Alpha Galileo Foundation article; “’Coming out of the closet is a major milestone in lives of LGBs that has not been studied extensively using interdisciplinary approaches that assess stress biomarkers’”.
