Planned and In Memory Gifts

Planned Giving

Leaving a legacy to the faculty is an enduring statement of support that will serve generations of students to come. Bequests and other planned gifts have always been critical to the well-being of the University. Such gifts were instrumental in the establishment of McGill, and they continue to strangthen McGill's endowment, scholarships and other student financial aid programs, libraries, and research. There are many forms of planned giving. Speak to your financial planner about the advantages of planned giving.

In Memory or In Honour Gifts

Alumni, friends and parents can honour the memory of someone whose life was enriched by the education they received at McGill, creating a living memorial through a gift to education and research. Gifts can be made in honour of someone's leadership or generosity, or to celebrate their birthday, graduation, anniversary, promotion, retirement, or other special occasion.

A special acknowledgement card will be sent to the family of the person being remembered or to the person being honoured. The gift card carries the name of each donor without revealing the amount of the gift.

The staff of the Bequests and Planned Gifts Office would be pleased to assist you and your legal/financial counsel in developing a planned gift. Please contact us at (514) 398-3560 or email plannedgifts [dot] dev [at] mcgill [dot] ca (planned gifts.)
