Last week the Schulich School of Music hosted the McGill’s Rising Stars event. The gathering saluted some of the most exciting and innovative new researchers across our campus, recognizing the success of social science and humanities researchers recently awarded SSHRC Insight Development Grants and/or FRQSC Nouveaux Chercheurs funding.
At the Faculty of Education with McGill, Canada’s top university, we proudly trace our origins back to 1857. This minute long video will take you on a quick tour around our faculty, our three departments, and our research institutes:
From Montreal, Quebec, Van Haaster won an individual bronze medal at the 2013 Pan American fencing Championships, and finished fifth in both individual and team foil events at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto.
The Ottawa Senators announced on Friday the appointment of McGill Education alumnus Martin Raymond (BEd 1990, MA (Physical Education) 1996) as an assistant coach to bench boss Guy Boucher. It marks the second National Hockey League stint for the tandem, which also worked together with the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2010 to 2013.
Enrico Quilico (MA, 2015), alumnus of our Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, is helping to raise funds for Brain Injury Canada by participating this weekend's Ironman Triathlon in Lake Placid, VT.
Over ten years ago, Quilico was involved in a motorcycling accident. He was lucky to survive. Now, after rehabilitation for his severe brain injury, he is a graduate of education programs at both McGill and Concordia, and will be teaching adult literacy this autumn.
