Dr. Lora Giangregorio named winner of 2015 Bloomberg Manulife Prize for the Promotion of Active Health

McGill University's Faculty of Education, in association with Lawrence and Frances Bloomberg and Manulife, is pleased to announce that Dr. Lora Giangregorio, Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo, is the winner of the 2015 Bloomberg Manulife Prize for the Promotion of Active Health.

Standing-room only at Education Open House 2015

Each year McGill's Faculty of Education participates in the university's campus-wide Open House event and exhibits our program offerings to prospective students and their families. Hosted in the lobby of the Education building at 3700 McTavish, this year's event was a first-rate success, evidence that the love of teaching is still very much alive! In addition, visitors are always anxious to learn about our faculty's Kinesiology degrees as well as our Graduate studies and Professional Development programs.

"Je voulais rester ici," Charline Labonté tells press

Charline Labonté (BEd (PE) 2012, MA (Sport Psych.) 2015) wants to stay in Montreal to encourage the development of women's hockey here, in Quebec, and Canada, she told the press recently. Labonté received her MA in Sport Psychology from our Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education in May, 2015.

Three new Special Topics courses involve youth fieldwork

The Faculty of Education is offering three new Special Topics courses in Health, Science, and Art & Social Media. The deadline to apply for these new courses is this Friday Sept, 18 at noon. Eugenie Bouchard tested by adversity, Dr. Bloom tells Gazette

After being named Canada's top female athlete two years in a row, young Quebec tennis star Eugenie Bouchard has lost 13 of her last 15 matches. Dr. Gordon Bloom of our Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Director of the McGill Sports Psychology Research Laboratory, was interviewed by the Montreal Gazette to help resolve questions brought to light by her recent disappointments.
