The Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology is excited to offer an online course for teachers at the elementary and secondary levels seeking provincial teaching certification from the Ministère de léducation, du loisir et du sport
Please also note that the online course offered below is available exclusively to teachers who have received written authorization from MELS to take these courses in order to receive provincial teaching certification at the elementary and secondary level.
Course Offered
EDPE 304 - Measurement and Evaluation (Section 720)
Educational & Counselling Psychology: The purposes of examinations. Causes of complaints about examinations. Equalizing means and dispersions in distribution of marks. Standardized scores. The percentile system. Essay and objective-type examinations. Taxonomies of educational objectives. Validity and reliability: item analysis.
PLEASE NOTE: Space in this course is limited. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
How to Register - For New Students
Registration for the online edition of this course requires departmental approval and is only open to teachers seeking certification (at the elementary and/or secondary levels).
To be eligible to register, all new students must first submit an application to become a Special Student through the School for Continuing Studies by submitting an application package which is comprised of the following items:

How to register - For Current Students
Students already studying at McGill University and registered as Continuing Studies Special Students are asked to send an email to Dean [dot] Thomson [at] mcgill [dot] ca (Dean Thomson) with their name, student ID number, and course(s) they would like to be registered in.
Current students will also be asked to present a copy of the letter from the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport listing courses/credits required for certification.
An email will follow during the week of April 15th, 2012, with instructions on how to register.
