The aim of the M.A. (with thesis) is to produce graduates who:
- are broadly trained in educational psychology
- have sufficient research competence to critically evaluate research in educational psychology, and to design, conduct and report empirical research
- have experience in applying research methods and findings to the solution of practical problems in varied educational settings
The M.A. (thesis) in Educational Psychology is available in four specializations. This section of the website concerns applicants to the Learning Sciences specialization only. Admission Requirements: M.A. (thesis) in Educational Psychology - Learning Sciences Stream
- An undergraduate degree in education, psychology, or another field relevant to the proposed studies in Educational Psychology. It is recommended that some prior study of a relevant branch of psychology form part of the undergraduate training.
- Minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of a 4.0 or higher in undergraduate studies.
How to Apply - M.A. Application Package, Learning Sciences
All applicants are expected to provide a completed application package, consisting of:
- Completed McGill online application form
- Two (2) official copies of all university transcripts (sent directly to the Department)
- Three (3) letters of reference on official letterhead from a professor and/or a supervisor (sent directly to the Department)
- For International Students Scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (sent directly to the Department)
- A current Curriculum Vitae
- A personal statement of interest, 1-2 pages in length and must include the following information:
- your reasons for applying to the program
- your career aspirations
- any information relevant to your application to which you would like to direct the attention of the admissions committee
Application Deadline is January 15th, of each year for the Fall (September) admittance.
