Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology

Please note the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology will only review applications submitted for the Fall (September) term. Therefore, we do not accept applications for the Winter and Summer terms. Please read carefully for application deadlines.

Please also note that scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) examination were previously a requirement for acceptance into the PhD in Counselling Psychology; this requirement has since been removed and so is not a necessary component of an application. The Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Calendar may continue to list this requirement for a period but it is, in fact, no longer a program requirement.

About the Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology

The program is built on the scientist-practitioner model. It is currently accredited by the Quebec Order of Psychologists (OPQ), the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), and the American Psychological Association (APA). The APA will cease to accredit all Canadian programs in 2015.
