Access to e-resources for Alumni

The library's new online service for alumni connects you instantly to a range of excellent e-resources. Available free of charge, the package includes article indexes, biographies, books, journals, magazines, music recordings, newspapers, plays and standards. Here is a sample of what you can find:

  • 155,000 art images sourced from museums across the world (Art Museum Image Gallery)
  • Detailed information on 700 universities worldwide (Commonwealth Universities Online Database)
  • Almost 10,000 musical compositions cutting across genres and eras (DRAM: Database of Recorded American Music)
  • Up-to-date information on over 3,300 drugs and alternative medicines (Epocrates Online)
  • Over 1,350 electronic books in the realms of economics, finance, philosophy, politics and religion (part of the Oxford Scholarship Online collection)
  • Full-text articles in business, trade and research journals (Wilson Business Full-text)
    - Ancient Chinese texts from the Pre-Han (pre-220 AD) period up to the Six Dynasties (581 AD) (CHANT)

Getting Access

To access these resources, you must first be a registered member of Alumnilife, McGill's Alumni Online Community. Complete information on becoming a member can be found at the following link [.pdf].

If you are already a member, go to E-Resources Website and login. You will be prompted to type in your user name (firstname [dot] lastname [at] mail [dot] mcgill [dot] ca) and the password that goes along with it, in order to gain entry to the database.
