Registration for new students (Fall 2012)

Here's how to register:

Accept our offer. Be sure to officially accept our offer of admission using the MINERVA system.

Permanent Code Data Form. Complete, sign, and mail the "Permanent Code Data Form," with the appropriate documents attached, to Enrolment Services, Documentation Centre, 688 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal, Quebec H3A 3R1. You have until October 15 to submit your form along with the information necessary to obtain or verify the Permanent Code. Failure to do so may result in your paying higher fees, and/or having your admission or registration rescinded. If you have misplaced the form you were sent by GPS, it’s available here.

Fee status. If you are a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident or, in addition, a Quebec resident, you must submit proof of your status to Enrolment Services at the address listed above, with the appropriate documents attached, to confirm that you qualify for fee assessment at the Canadian or Quebec rate. If you do not provide this proof, you will be charged fees at the much higher International rate.

Register for courses and confirm your registration. Go on the MINERVA system and register for your courses. In addition, you must initiate a registration for each term. Do so by registering for the the “Registration Confirmation Courses” (“REGN – RCGR”) in both the Fall 2011 (201109 CRN 2334) and Winter 2012 (201201 CRN 2262) terms.

  • Log in to MINERVA and enter your nine-digit student ID and six-digit PIN.
  • Click on “Registration menu”
  • Click on “Search class schedule”
  • Select “Fall 2012”
  • In the box heading “Subject" scroll down until you reach “REGN- Registration.”
  • Scroll down to the column labelled "CRN" until you reach CRN 2334.
  • Click on the registration button. You have now activated the Fall 2012 term.
  • Change the term to Winter 2013 and repeat the procedure.
  • If you are unsure what courses to add, register for the Registration Confirmation Courses This starts the registration process. You can add courses later during add/drop period, which ends September 13.

    Get your courses approved. You must complete and sign a MINERVA Course Selection Form, available here, which you must then have signed by your advisor (for advising times, see below).

    Registration dates. To register without penalty you must access MINERVA at any time between July 10th and August 14th, 2012.

    Billing. You will receive an e-bill for your Fall 2012 fees in the month following your registration on MINERVA. Most new students will receive their e-bill at the beginning of September and the fees will be due at the end of September.

     

    August math prep course

    ECON 633: Mathematics for Economists

    The course is aimed at bringing students’ knowledge of calculus, analysis, linear algebra and optimization theory up to levels required by the graduate macroeconomics and microeconomics courses and other courses. All incoming students are expected to attend this course, as its contents are required in the MA and PhD courses including the core Macro and Micro sequences. There will be no fees charged or enrollment necessary. Students are expected to complete assignments. The course will start on Thursday, August 16th, to Friday, August 31st,2012, daily from 10:00 - 1:00 in Leacock 424. The instructor is Dr. Hassan Benchekroun. Textbook is TBA.
