Founder and CEO of MXIC visits the ECE Department

Mr. Miin Wu, the founder and CEO of Macronix International Ltd. (MXIC), visited the ECE Department on October 5 together with Mr. Arthur Yang, the President of MXIC USA. They met with the Associate Chair of Operations, Prof. Benoit Boulet, and various members of the department.

Mr. Wu was with the Electronic Materials and Devices group in our department in the mid-70s, working with Prof. Clifford Champness, before starting his industrial career in the US and then in Taiwan. In his inspiring seminar on electronic memory, Mr. Wu described how he envisioned the technology and market trends, his philosophy on products development, and the life as an industrialist. Macronix International Ltd. is the world leader in masked ROM and one of the largest manufacturers of non-volatile memory chips.
