Description of research/teaching activities
Over the past year I was involved with Josephine Peck, a First Nations educator in the Mi’kmaw community of Wagmatcook, Nova Scotia, looking at the impact of the Certificate of Aboriginal Literacy in Education on the learning and retention of the Mi’kmaw language. We are now developing children’s storybooks written in Mi’kmaq to be used in the Mi’kmaw classrooms, pre-k to grade 2.
