Program Options and Courses
Teaching within the Strategy and Organization discipline is constantly evolving. At the undergraduate level, we offer Bachelor of Commerce concentrations in Strategic Management (with Global Strategy and Social Business and Enterprise options) and Entrepreneurship. Beginning in Fall 2014, we will offer a new Major in Strategic Management.
At the graduate level, we offer the PhD specialization in Strategy and Organization. We also partner with the Organizational Behaviour area to deliver the MBA concentration in Global Strategy and Leadership.
New for the 2013-2014 academic year is the redesign of the Entrepreneurship Concentration for increased rigour and relevance. This comprehensive redesign includes two new courses, to be taken in sequence: Fundamentals of Entrepreneurshipand Entrepreneurship in Practice . The latter features a “live” field project with an entrepreneurial organization.
The Strategy and Organization discipline has also redesigned its Global Strategy and Social Context of Business Options. The latter is now renamed Social Business and Enterprise, to reflect its new emphasis. This concentration features a new course, called Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Finally, beginning in September 2014, the discipline will offer a Major in Strategic Management, combining traditional topics in strategic management, such as competition and globalization, with attention to pressing social and environmental challenges. This Major will offer flexibility to students, including the possibility of taking related courses both across and outside of the Faculty.
