To offer a program for entrepreneurial education and to enhance entrepreneurial practices at McGill University, within the greater Montreal community, across Canada and internationally, by:
1) Developing and delivering relevant courses
2) Creating outreach programs which support research, encouragement for entrepreneurs and their spirit of entrepreneurship
The Dobson Centre’s teaching philosophy develops integrative and broad thinkers. Dobson students explore integrated thinking through face-to-face experiences with managers who have deep practical expertise and insight from their research. The Centre helps broaden thinkers by drawing lessons for management from art, history, and culture that help develop perspective and seed innovative thinking.
The Dobson Centre includes classes on topics ranging from leadership to technological entrepreneurship, as well as managing small businesses and current topics such as the transformation of the music business. Find out more about these courses as well as our concentration and minor programs here.
In case competitions, top business students from around the world compete head-to-head to solve tough business problems. The Dobson Centre also hosts a number of prize competitions for top business plans, working with nonprofits, and more. These events include the Dobson Cup, a contest for start-up businesses.
We are located in McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management on the 6th floor of the Bronfman Building (1001 Sherbrooke Street West) next to the Career Centre (Room 649).
