Rebecca Schechter

Senior Vice President, Institutional Investor Services (IIS), State Street Boston Corp

Rebecca Schechter joined the IIS management team as the Senior Vice President, Division Manager to lead the Corporate, Endowment and Foundation business.

Ms. Schechter most recently was the Chief Risk Officer for State Street Global Services globally with the responsibility for advancing the risk management function against evolving business needs and regulatory expectations.

Since she joined State Street in 2004, Ms. Schechter has been the Senior Managing Director for Global Link, State Street’s multi-asset class network for market research, portfolio analytics, integration, execution, reporting, and settlement. She has been responsible for managing the client-facing electronic trading applications and leveraging a unique dual-shore product development model for State Street Global Markets and Global Link. 

Throughout her career, Ms. Schechter has had significant, international experience across strategy, operations, and information technology. Prior to joining State Street Global Markets, Ms. Schechter worked as a Vice President at Thomson Financial, where she oversaw the product management, operations and strategy for several business divisions. She has also worked in management consulting for McKinsey and Co. in both Zurich and Boston, and before that, she worked in global product development at AC Nielsen.

Ms. Schechter holds an undergraduate degree in International Business and Entrepreneurship from McGill University, and she received her MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. She has been featured in industry publications and is a frequent speaker at industry events including Trade Tech, the MIT CIO Symposium, Society for Information Management (SIM) and Regional Leadership Forum for the SIM.

Ms. Schechter is originally from Strasbourg, France and currently resides in the Boston area with her husband and 2 children. She was nominated for and completed the Wharton Executive Development program. She also has been nominated to internal committees including the Global Markets Executive Management, Major Risk Committee Secretary, SVP Nomination, Global Allocations and Global Inclusion, U.S. ERISA Appeals committees.

She is a board member of the MIT Sloan Alumni Club of Boston; she is on the national advisory board for TeenVoices, the McGill Investment Management Program Expert Panel and the Global Outreach Committee for SIM Boston.
