There are many services and resources pertaining to the overall well-being of students, including the Student Wellness Hub and our focus on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Desautels.

There are a variety of clubs and extra-curricular activities offered by the Management Undergraduate Society, as well as case competition and challenges to participate in.

Resources for Desautels BCom students

The BCom Student Affairs Office

The BCom Student Affairs Office provides student with ongoing advice and guidance on:

  • Programs and pre-requisites
  • Degree requirements
  • Majors, minors and concentrations
  • Registration, course change, procedures for withdrawal
  • Deferred final examinations, rereads
  • Academic standing
  • Inter-faculty transfer, exchange or study abroad
  • Transfer credits
  • Scholarships
  • Graduation

The BCom Office abides by everything in the Calendar - pre-requisites, concentrations, majors, etc. The BCom Office will not make exceptions for students against the Calendar in any situation. No exceptions to the Calendar will be approved by the BCom Office or the Director, BCom Program.

Student advisors offer help managing academic situations during periods of personal, financial or medical problems, by working with students to identify various possibilities and strategies for making informed decisions.

Career Management

Located in the Soutar Career Centre, Career Management at the Desautels Faculty of Management is dedicated to helping students develop their career management skills and explore career paths that enable them to ultimately achieve their career goals.

Innovative programs, workshops and speaker series coupled with an integrated learning approach prepare our students and give them the skills to make an impact in their careers throughout their lifetime. 

There are also orientation sessions for new students to learn how Career Management can enrich the BCom experience, as well as workshop, event and appoints to support international students.

The award-winning Management Undergraduate Society provides students with an array of events and services steeped in the management traditions of philanthropy, fun, student orientation and, of course, academic excellence.
