The following are available to Desautels MBA students entering or in their first year.
These merit-based awards are granted upon acceptance to the program, you need not apply separately.

Established in 1998 by the John Dobson Foundation in honor of Edward M. Ballon (B.A 1947) a distinguished graduate who, while a student at McGill, was Captain of the Track team, President of the Students' Society of the McGill University and President of the Students' Athletic Council. He later became President of the McGill Graduates Society and a member of the Board of Governors of the University.
Awarded by the Desautels Scholarships Committee to a full-time student entering the MBA program on the basis of high academic standing, demonstrated leadership skills through involvement in extra curricular activities and participation in a competitive sport. Candidates must be Canadian citizens. To apply applicants must submit a one-page statement detailing their involvement in extra curricular activities and participation in a competitive sport. The statement must be submitted at the time of application to the program.

The Fellows Program aims to identify talented and ambitious youth from across the Arab region, and offer them scholarships to pursue graduate studies in management, finance or leadership at top international universities. The program will cover all financial costs related to tuition, books, accommodation, stipend and travel for the full duration of the Fellowship. Upon completion of their studies, the Fellows are legally bound to return to the region for at least two years of employment in the public or private sector.
The qualified candidate, who must also possess professional experience in the region, should submit a completed MBRF Fellows application through the school. Additionally, he/she must show intellectual maturity, social awareness, ethical consciousness and a strong commitment to the Arab world and the region, and its development needs.
A successful candidate’s application should reveal that he/she is professionally experienced, motivated individual with the potential to make a positive impact in the Arab world and the region. These attributes must be outlined in a clear, concise and compelling manner.
While an interview is not compulsory, in some cases, MBRF may feel that a interview would shed more light on the candidate’s merit.

human and socio-economic progress. Nationals from 22 regional countries are
eligible to apply. These countries are: Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti,
Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman,
Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, UAE and
Yemen.

First awarded in 1997, this scholarship will be awarded every second year. The purpose of this award is to create a distinguished international fellowship that will enable outstanding students from Poland to pursue a two year Masters of Business Administration at McGill Desautels Faculty of Management. The Fellowship is intended to be a comprehensive award covering the principal expenses that such students will incur while in Canada. Successful candidates must plan to return to Poland and participate in its economic life.
Value: $27,000 renewable, awarded every second year

Established by the estate of the late Alvin J. Walker, this award is presented by the Desautels Faculty of Management MBA Scholarships Committee to a full time student entering the MBA program who demonstates academic excellence.

The Board of Directors of the newly established foundation is pleased to announce the launching of activities of this charitable organization whose mission consists in helping students to pursue advanced studies at the Master's and Doctorate levels. The Foundation was created on December 30th 2005 thanks to the donation of the assets of Alkebec Inc., an investment firm owned by Pierre Arbour. Deserving students in financial need will be selected for academic studies susceptible to promoting Quebec’s economic growth in the following disciplines: business administration (MBA), engineering and computer science.
Eligibility: Applicants must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants with permanent residency in Quebec pursuing their MBA on a full time basis at a Quebec university. Minimum 75% (or equivalent) overall average in their undergraduate degree. Applicants cannot be holders of a Masters degree prior to commencing their MBA studies.

research/analytical thinking
Established in 1965, awarded by the Desautels Faculty of Management MBA Scholarships Committee to a full time student entering the MBA program on the basis of academic merit.
Value: up to $4,800, non-renewable
Criteria: Academic excellence
Established by Seymour Schulich in memory of Professor Peter Briant, a teacher and mentor to many in the Desautels Faculty of Management. Awarded to Canadian students in the first year of the full time MBA program by the Desautels Faculty of Management. This award will be granted on the basis of entrepreneurial experience, potential, general scholastic ability and financial need as assessed by the Student Aid Office.

The following are available to Desautels MBA students entering or in their second year.
This award was established in 1996 by Seymour Schulich and Lawrence Bloomberg in honour of Donald E. Armstrong, founding Director of the MBA program. It will be awarded annually by the Desautels Faculty of Management Scholarship Committee to a second year student with high academic standing, who has proven leadership skills and active involvement in the community.

Established by the Bank of Montreal. This award will be granted to a full time student in the second year of the MBA program specializing in Finance.
Value: $6,000, 2 awards
Criteria: Second year student, specializing in finance. High academic
standing, proven leadership skills, participation in extracurricular
university activities and/or community involvement. Preference given to
female applicants.
Established in 1999 with the support of friends and family of the late Roger C. Bennett, distinguished Professor of Marketing (Desautels Faculty of Management), who had a zest for life. Awarded by the Desautels Faculty of Management Scholarship Committee to a graduating MBA student who has demonstrated academic achievement and community involvement.

Established in 2008 by the MBA Class of ’81. Awarded by the Desautels Faculty of Management MBA Scholarships Committee to a student in the MBA program whose academic record is judged to be outstanding and who has demonstrated leadership qualities among those who graduate during the academic year.

Criteria: Academic excellence, outstanding leadership
Established in 1998 for graduate students by the Association des MBA du Québec. Awarded by the Desuatels Faculty of Management MBA Scholarships Committee to a full time student completing their final year of the MBA program. This award is granted on the basis of high academic standing and leadership skills both inside and outside the classroom.
