At the Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurial studies, entrepreneurship is a way of life. The Dobson Centre is a hub for entrepreneurial activity at McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management and in the greater Montreal community.
Finance
The McGill Finance Area is internationally recognized for its high quality research and innovative teaching. It offers programs leading to Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degrees.
The Finance Area provides an academic environment where collegiality, service, and excellence in the profession are valued and cherished. Our Area members help students on many issues, ranging from course selection to supervision of independent study and doctoral research.
Operations management
In today's global economy, managers are faced with rapid technological changes. The Desautels Faculty of Management's Operations Management area seeks to help today's manager meet this challenge through the development of enhanced decision-making processes. The Operations Management area places special emphasis on statistical, mathematical, and economic analysis. This area also encompasses the formal modeling of decision-making problems in different fields found in the critical processes associated with the design, production, and distribution of goods and services.

What is Strategy and Organization and who are we?
The Strategy and Organization Area focuses on research and teaching that addresses the strategies and structuring of organizations, the process by which strategies form and change, their social determinants, and the relationship between organizations and their economic, political, social and natural environments. We study and teach management from a holistic and integrative perspective to understand important real-life phenomena as well as theory-building.

A Research Output Study comparing the Desautels Faculty of Management to 3 of the best Canadian business Schools. The basis of measurement was the level of output of each school in the 40 Journals used in the prestigious Financial Times of London Ranking (FT40) - March 2005
Grants
In this year's SSHRC Standard Research Grants competition, our Faculty's success rate reached a high of 78% compared to McGill's overall average of 48%.
Additionally, in this year's NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council) Grants, our Faculty's success rate is 67%.
