Research at the Desautels Faculty of Management is broken down into five Areas of Research. These Areas of Research are then further divided into Specializations which contribute directly to research and teaching in the Faculty’s various academic programs.
The Joint PhD Program – A broader perspective
The McGill PhD Program in Management provides students with a unique post-graduate educational experience that facilitates exposure to a variety of research approaches and interests, and to the combined resources of four top Montreal universities.
PLEASE NOTE: We have made the decision to temporarily stop admissions into the MMM Program, hence the program will not be accepting students for 2013.
Who should apply?
Students contemplating admission to the MMM Program should consider how positively they can relate to a number of issues:
Current opportunities and challenges for corporations have resulted not only in the adoption of sophisticated technologies, but also the expansion of global markets, powerful changes to corporate structure, and an extremely competitive marketplace. Present-day focus is on supply chain management, lean manufacturing, six sigma, JIT, logistics and similar concepts. Such revolutionary changes have resulted in a new workplace, and companies in the contemporary economy are seeking future leaders for their operations.
The MMM curriculum is a unique combination of intensive academic and practical studies, which provide the skill set required by corporations with extensive and sophisticated operations. The 18 academic courses plus the industrial project (56 credits) span a number of categories, each serving a different objective. Together they provide the necessary qualifications for a career in manufacturing and supply chain management.
