Program options and courses

Teaching within the Accounting discipline covers undergraduate and graduate education. At the undergraduate level, we offer Bachelor of Commerce major and concentration in Accounting.

Awards

In-course Scholarships:

Gary and Wendy Balter Scholarship in Management

Established in 2000 by Gary J. Balter, B.Com. 1979, DPA 1980 and Wendy Balter, B.Com. 1980, for an outstanding undergraduate student who has completed at least one year of a B.Com. program. Awarded on the basis of high academic standing by the Desautels Faculty of Management Scholarships Committee. Preference will be given to students majoring in Financial Accounting and who are residents of Montreal.
Estimated value: $2,000.

Economic Policy Management (EPM) Program (1994-2001)

Courses

Management courses

MMM Students are required to take 10 courses at the Desautels Faculty of Management. These courses can be categorized into four groups each serving a different objective.

Managing Resounces and Value Creation are MBA core courses, which expose the student to different functional areas of business administration at an introductory level.

Data, Models and Decisions is developed specifically for the MMM Program and provides the students with the fundamentals of operations research and statistical analysis.

Course projects

Course projects are required elements in some of the academic courses. Typically they are studies of present or historical activities, or problems into which companies would like some insight, analysis or proposed solutions. Teams of two to four students spend about 20 to 40 hours each on research and compilation of reports.
