Professor Henry Mintzberg,
Cleghorn Chair of Management & IMHL Faculty Director
Fees for the Program
Fees for the International Masters for Health Leadership are $45,000 CDN (this amount includes the university ancillary charges). These fees cover all instruction during the five modules, required books and other pedagogical materials including self-learning materials, and tutoring. Fees are exclusive of travel and living expenses (see below). The University reserves the right to make changes without notice in the published scale of fees.
Payment Schedule
Payments are made according to the following schedule:
- a non-refundable deposit of $5,000 CDN is required upon receipt of the notification of acceptance letter, in order to reserve a place in the program: the non-refundable deposit will be applied to the last semester the participant successfully completes in order to graduate in this cohort
- 1st installment: $15,000 CDN due 1 month prior to the start of Module 1
- 2nd installment: $15,000 CDN due 1 month prior to the start of Module 2
- 3rd installment: $10,000 CDN due 1 month prior to the start of Module 3
Travel
All travel is to be arranged and paid by participants or their organization.
Living Expenses
Living expenses are estimated at a maximum of $14,000 CDN for the entire program. This covers hotel, meals, local transport, telephone calls, internet provider, etc. and is paid for by participants or their organization.
Cancellations
Because there are a fixed number of places in each class, organizations will be held responsible for payment of the full fee for participants who drop out of the program after the start of the first module.
The University reserves the right to make changes without notice in the published scale of fees.
Financial Aid
Most IMHL participants pay themselves and/or have funding (total or partial) through their own organization. Some participants may however require external sources of funding.
It is our preference that the organization endorses the applicant's participation to the program as part of his/her ongoing professional responsibilities. This is a program for managers in context. As a result, on the Candidate Endorsement.pdf form (one of the application documents), one of the two following options needs to be selected:
- The organization agrees to pay the fees and expenses, and to provide release time for the participant to attend the program
- The organization will not pay the fees for the participant but will provide release time for the participant to attend the program
In the first instance, the organization pays the fees per participant directly to McGill University, this being exclusive of travel and living expenses.
In the second instance, participants pay themselves, with or without partial funding from their own organization, or can also benefit from external source(s) of funding - a donor, a foundation, an international agency, others. Should external source(s) of funding be required and available, information will be offered to recommended for admission candidates.
