My research interests focus on strategic management, corporate governance, and entrepreneurship in the context of emerging economies. In my recent research projects, I have studied how firms redefine standards of good corporate governance and respond to legitimacy-threatening events by changing their corporate governance, how affiliation with the state affects firms’ performance and perceived trustworthiness, and how proactive business model renewal facilitates survival in the turbulent institutional environment. These projects have been supported by FQRSC and SSHRC grants. My research has been published or accepted for publication by Organization Science, Organization Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Management and Governance, Corporate Governance: An International Review, and International Sociology.
