Azimut appoints Desautels alumna as director

Azimut Exploration Inc. has appointed Angelina Mehta (MBA’02) as its new company director, effective February 27, 2018.

In addition to an MBA, Mehta holds a degree in mining engineering and is also pursuing a Masters of Law at York University. She has previously worked as an investment manager at The Sentient Group and has gained both technical and corporate experience with Rio Tinto's subsidiary, Iron Ore Company of Canada.

Six BCom students awarded CPA Quebec scholarships

Congratulations to the six Desautels undergraduate students who were awarded scholarships by the Foundation of CPAs of Quebec.

The scholarships, valued at $1,000 each, recognize academic excellence and community involvement among students in Quebec who are interested in pursuing accounting.

This year’s recipients are: Nicole Butkowsky; Chaeyoung Lee; Shannon Levy; Sateesh Pararajasingham; Nathalie Shen-Picotte and Elizabeth Tkach.

Sydney Wiseman (BCom'11), brand manager of WowWee, a leading manufacturer of hi-tech consumer robotic and entertainment products, was named the Wonder Woman in Toys Creator of the Year for her work with the Fingerlings children’s toy.

Winners of the 2018 Wonder Women Awards were announced on Sunday, February 18 at the 14th Annual Wonder Women in Toys, Licensing, & Entertainment Awards Gala in New York City.
