$1 billion enough to keep Bombardier going, but company will need to sell planes to survive

With Bombardier struggling with a multi-billion dollar loss this year, the Quebec government is riding to the rescue. Management professor Karl Moore agrees that Bombardier is a critical part of Quebec's economy. "Part of it is that it's a great part of our history. One of Quebec and Canada's few multinationals developed and built around the world," said Moore.

MBA combined degrees give graduates more options and appeal

Joseph Kam always had his eyes on the big picture. Soon after getting his PhD in neuroscience from McGill, he enrolled in the Desautels Faculty of Management’s combined MD-MBA program. “After talking to people in the industry and seeing problems for myself, I became interested in healthcare management,” he says. “Being a doctor or doing basic research are both great. But healthcare management is a bigger issue that affects every Canadian.”

The business class of higher learning

Those who can, do — and those who’ve done it all will always find more to do. It’s exactly those Type A personalities the McGill-HEC Montréal Executive MBA (EMBA) program attracts, and not without cause. The 15-month program involves one long weekend of classes per month, with two weeklong residential modules, one of which is spent abroad. People are often doing it in addition to full-time jobs, and, in many cases, they also have family responsibilities.

McGill cryptocurrency club gives away more free bitcoin on McGill Campus

Thanks to generous donations, the McGill Cryptocurrency Club gave away hundreds of dollars worth of bitcoin to students during frosh week using ChangeTip, Twitter, and the innovative Tips on a plane application. The goal is to foster interest in Bitcoin amongst students and promote adoption and use on campus.
