Deschênes Group goes all-in for acquisitions 

Deschênes Group Inc. is a Canadian giant. The nation’s largest plumbing and electrical product distributor ensures growth in a mature industry through acquisition, most recently of Ontario-based Ideal Supply Company Ltd. — which, as a player in the automotive industry, represents a massive departure for its new owner. CEO François Deschênes (EMBA’10) says of his company’s long history of acquisition that “There’s always uncertainty when a company is bought; you have to analyse every situation before you implement new elements.”

Deschênes group has 140-odd autonomous locations, and encourages an entrepreneurial spirit. The resulting agility lets each location respond quickly to local market requirements.
