evenko Announces the First Edition of APEX

Published: 27 November 2015

Montreal (QC), November 23, 2015 – evenko announced that its first edition of APEX will be held on February 24, 2016 at the Bell Centre Theatre. Presented by Desjardins Business in collaboration with Bell, and in partnership with the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal (BTMM), and Lavery Lawyers. This day, filled with a new type of continuing education will foster learning and professional development among Quebec professionals and businesspeople by offering them exclusive access to some of the most respected speakers from across Quebec and around the world. APEX 2016: Only the best reach the summit

With a name inspired by the Latin word for summit, the first edition of APEX invites participants to explore four themes over the course of the day, and will push them to redefine and value key workplace skills: negotiation, communication, teamwork, and leadership. These will be broached both in theory and in practice, by a sometimes surprising combination of well-reputed experts and speakers. The list of instructors and notable figures includes Wayne Gretzky, Lise Watier, Scotty Bowman, Jean-Marc Vallée, Marshall Goldsmith, Pierre Bruneau, Jean-Luc Mongrain, Guylaine Tremblay, Patricia McCord, Alain Lempereur, Marc Bergevin, Pat Brisson, and Jon Favreau, among many more.

While it may be a first venture into the world of business and education for the company known internationally for its large-scale cultural and sporting events, the concept, creation, and development of this project represent a continuation of the evenko creation model. “evenko is proud to apply its expertise and leverage its relationships to hold a major event that meets the needs of individuals from the business community by allowing them to learn and develop professionally. APEX enhances evenko’s events and contributes to our expansion in other sectors,” said Jacques Aubé, Executive Vice-President & Chief Operating Officer for evenko.

As is tradition with the company, the organizing team has paid particular attention to the day’s format. Serge Postigo, a seasoned stage director with an EMBA from McGill-HEC, is responsible for the staging and artistic design of all the day's activities.

IMPORTANT PARTNERSHIPS FOR A MAJOR EVENT

In collaboration with evenko, the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University actively participated in the development of the pedagogical content in order to ensure its accuracy and relevance. “We are very happy to collaborate on this innovative initiative. It will allow us to combine our cutting edge expertise in teaching and management research with evenko’s expertise in production and entertainment,” explained Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou, Dean of the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University.

The development of a project this size would not have been possible without the participation of our precious partners. This is indeed the case with Desjardins Business, the official APEX partner, a company where training has always been valued and put in place at all their branches and subsidiaries. “At Desjardins, supporting entrepreneurship is part of our DNA. We assist over 400,000 businesses across Canada. Companies that are in the start-up phase, growth, international expansion, or even those transferring to new owners; we accompany them throughout all these steps. We believe in providing support to match the needs and ambitions of the businesspeople who contribute to the collective wealth through the sheer force of their ideas. This is why it is only natural for Desjardins to be associated with an event like APEX 2016,” stated Gilles Bernard, Vice-President, Marketing, Performance and Innovation, Business and Institutional Services, Desjardins Group.
