Dr. Gad Saad, BSc'88, MBA'90

Dr. Gad Saad (BSc'88, MBA'90) was appointed as Concordia University Research Chair in Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences and Darwinian Consumption (2008-2013).  This is the first chair of its kind in the world, and it recognizes the fact that he founded the discipline of evolutionary consumption.

As of June 1, 2010, Dr. Saad has been promoted to Full Professor of Marketing.

His academic book titled The Evolutionary Bases of Consumption published in 2007 is now an academic bestseller. He has two upcoming books: a trade book titled The Consuming Instinct: What Juicy Burgers, Ferraris, Pornography, and Gift Giving Reveal About Human Nature (Prometheus Books, 2011) and an edited book titled Evolutionary Psychology in the Business Sciences (Springer, 2011)

Dr. Saad has been a blogger with Psychology Today for 18 months. His blog has thus far garnered 414,000+ readers, making him one of the most popular bloggers at Psychology Today.
