Distances in Organization Workshop: May 11-12, 2018

The “Distances in Organizations” workshop will be hosted by McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management in Montreal on May 11-12, 2018.

Distances in Organizations will provide a platform for academics and graduate students engaged in research in the field to present their findings and discuss innovative ideas. The workshop will cover topics such as social distance between employees (e.g. power, culture), spatial distance in work teams (e.g. distributed teams, mobile work), temporal distances in work (e.g. goals, deadlines), construal levels (e.g. measurement, conceptualization), as well as their relationships with important management constructs (e.g., justice, creativity, performance).

Distances in Organizations is anticipated be a small workshop (around 30 participants) to facilitate discussion and exchange of ideas between attendees. In addition, the workshop aims to encourage networking through meals, cocktail hours, and a guided tour of Old Montreal.
